Benson, NC: Mrs. Hazel Caudle King, age 78 of S. George Street passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev. Jeff Person and Dr. Elvin Butts will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lamm-Suggs Family Cemetery in Benson.
Mrs. King was born on August 11, 1947 in Johnston County to the late Harold and Eunice Bearry Caudle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond V. King, Jr.; and her brother, Ronnie Caudle. Mrs. King retired from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. After retirement, she worked for Heritage Bible College for around 10 years. Mrs. King was a published author and also wrote for the Benson News and Review as a columnist. She was also a founding member of the Benson Little Theater. Mrs. King was a life-long member of the Benson Church of God and also attended Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include her children, Melissa Tew and husband, Johnny and Steven King and wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Austin King, Sarah Tew, Cale Jackson, Connor Jackson, and James Tew; sister, Judy Guiton; several beloved nieces and nephews.
