Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Hazel Marie Latiolais, 98, who passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Monday by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert.
Rev. Reed Bellingham will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Stacy Latiolais and Catherine Latiolais. Gift bearers will be Darnell "Cookie" Tauzin and Madelyn Gerard.
Entombment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum #2 in Breaux Bridge.
Hazel Marie Latiolais, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, known for her deep love for family, her green thumb, and her devotion to prayer. She was born on June 18, 1926, into a family marked by her kindness, quiet strength, and unconditional generosity towards those in need.
Hazel's compassionate nature, love for gardening, and ability to bring people together through her delicious meals will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of caregiving for babies, those in need, and selflessness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Paul) Marks; sons, Tracy (Gail) Latiolais, and Timmy Latiolais; grandchildren, Stacy Latiolais, Catherine "CJ" Latiolais, and Kelly Marks; great-grandchildren, Kinzie LeBlanc, Elizabeth Ingram, and Anzlie Ingram.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benoit Latiolais; parents, Rene' and Leota Huval Benoit; brother, Chester Benoit; sisters, Marion Tauzin, Stella Latiolais, Mavis Theriot, Ruth Douet, Ruby Johnson, and Sue Hulin; niece, Ashley Benoit; and her nephew, Mike Douet.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Latiolais, Troy Latiolais, Paul Marks, Kelly Marks, Kinzie LeBlanc, and Bobby Latiolais.
Honorary pallbearer will be Russell "Russ" Tauzin.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
