Hazel O'Banion, 85, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024. She was born on April 3, 1939, in Reeds, Missouri, to George and Lorraine Pippin. She attended and graduated from Sarcoxie High School. Hazel was retied Army and lived in the Webb City area for the last 40 plus years.
Hazel was united in marriage to Loyd O'Banion on August 12, 1965, in North Kingstown, Rhode Island; he preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, March Kean (Larry) of Webb City; sister, Helen Stafford (Don) of Peculiar; four grandchildren, Ariel Gossett (Scott), Kenneth Pollard (Blanca), Jared Kean (Brandy), Jacob Kean; 13 great grandchildren, Hailey, Cameron, Caden, Whitney, Kendon, Kamdon, Kolton, Leslie, Aidan, Brooklyn, Ethan, Noah, and Ashten; several great-great grandchildren; nephews, Rocky Sanders and Johnny Nevill, along with many more nieces and nephews; and her niece, Kellie Howard.
Hazel was preceded in death by an infant brother; her sister, Phillis Nevill; nephew, Tim Nevill; and stepfather, H. Tupper Smith.
Her family will be having a memorial service for Hazel at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Reeds Cemetery in Reeds, Missouri.
