Gail Oline O'Banion, age 67, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away, Friday, August 1, 2025, in Jefferson City.

She was born on May 27, 1958, in California, Mo., the daughter of Dr. Jerry Kenneth and Mary Lee (Less) O'Banion.

Gail was a 1976 graduate of Jefferson City High School and later attended University of Central Missouri. She was later employed by the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole where she then retired.

Gail lived a life full of love, adventure, and compassion. In her earlier years, she found joy as a travel agent, turning her passion for exploring the world into a career that allowed her to share that joy with others. Gail had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and they brought her endless comfort and companionship throughout her life. Though she had no children of her own, she poured her heart into her relationships with her nieces and nephews, cherishing them as if they were her own. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her siblings, Jerri Webb (Kyle) of Camdenton, Mo., and Patty McKnelly (Lorenzo) of Jefferson City, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Jerred Webb (Mandy), Martha Webb, Jennifer Hawley (Jake), Stephanie Ruehter (Jay), Heather McKnelly, Dow McKnelly, and Andi Bell (Joe).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary Lee; sister, Janey Fuller; and her nephew, Kenny Webb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to People Helping Paws.
