Mrs. Hazel Ann Preast, 81, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Preast was born August 18, 1942, daughter of the late Tommy and Laura Harcourt Shepherd. A resident of LaGrange most of her life, she was a member of Creekside Baptist Church and loved her Lord Jesus. She enjoyed car shows, gospel music, and family dinners. She loved everyone, but especially loved her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Survivors include her sons, Chris Maddox of Pensacola, FL, Tracy Maddox and his wife Aimee Maddox of LaGrange; daughter, Hazel Hampton of Hogansville; grandchildren, Victoria Maddox, Corey Hammett, Haylee Maddox, Rebecca Preast, Michael Hampton, and Wayne Fomby; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Eugene "Jack" Preast; son, James Anthony Preast; and great-grandson, Walker Eugene Hampton.
The memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Bryan Geter officiating. Interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.
