Funeral Services for Ms. Hazel Marie Sant will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home located at 911 Warren Drive in
West Monroe, LA with Bro. Keith Hernandez. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA. Family will accept friends for visitation from 12:00PM, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Hazel Marie Sant, a beacon of faith and spirited passion, aged 90, of Downsville, Louisiana, completed her earthly journey and entered eternal rest on March 8, 2025. Born on August 25, 1934, in Roschelle, Louisiana, Hazel's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication to family, and unwavering spiritual commitment. She was a woman of deep faith who touched the hearts of all who knew her. With a soul that radiated joy and kindness, Hazel's presence was a comfort to many. Her steadfast devotion to her beliefs was visible in her love for spiritual crosswords, and she drew much inspiration from the teachings of Jimmy Swaggart, with his expressions of faith echoing her own.
The matriarch of a family that cherished her deeply, Hazel leaves behind a legacy of love through her survivors. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, W.T. Sant; her cherished son, Cliff Charrier, Jr.; and her caring son-in-law, Joe Taylor. Her memory will be forever honored by her devoted children, Debbie Hernandez and her husband Kenny, Patricia Taylor, and Melba Wright-Lossier. The spirit of her love continues to shine brightly through her beloved grandchildren, Teresa Charrier, Ray Wright and his wife Robin, Dewayne Wright, Lindsay Marsala and her husband Joey, Jennifer Coats and her husband Michael, Heather Gunter, Michael Alford and his wife Jessie, Natasha Odom and her husband Allen, Amanda Purdy and her husband Robert, Kim Hernandez, and Leann Albritton and her husband Casey. Moreover, Hazel's life is further celebrated by her 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel's life was a beautiful illustration of devotion-a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family knew no bounds. She was a guiding light in their lives and encouraged each one to shine brightly in their unique way. Her unwavering support and enduring presence will be immensely missed, though the family takes solace in knowing that her warm spirit will live on within them.
Hailed as a faith-filled, loving, and spirited individual, Hazel Marie Sant exemplified these virtues throughout her life. Her strength of will, boundless love, and the lively spirit etched an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
