LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Hazeline Phillips Funderburk, age 78, passed away on July 19, 2025 at her home. She was born on December 23, 1946, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late John Lee Phillips and the late Frances Outen Phillips. Ms. Funderburk was a weaver for Springs Industries for many years before working her dream job in the cafeteria at Buford Elementary School. She enjoyed her pet birds, coloring, word searches, sewing, and cross stitching. Ms. Funderburk loved giving back her time, love, and compassion to volunteering at Christian Services and Christian Services Food Pantry for over 15 years, and within her church. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church.
Ms. Funderburk is survived by her two children, Melissa Wallace (Todd), and Sam Funderburk (Kim); her four grandchildren, Madison Funderburk, Lilly Grace Funderburk, Tucker Wallace, and Josie Wallace; and her special friend, Betty Britt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Francis Phillips; and her twin sister, Geraldine Adams.
The Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Funderburk will be at 10:00am Monday, July 21, 2025 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:00pm, July 20, 2025 at the home of Sam and Kim Funderburk.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Services Food Pantry, 1227 Great Falls Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720.
