We gather here today to celebrate the life and legacy of Heidi Noelle Macks, a beloved child of God, who was called to her heavenly home on the 5th of November, 2024. Born on the 2nd of September, 1987, in the sunny city of Pensacola, Florida, Heidi was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She completed her earthly journey in
Evansville, Indiana, leaving behind a tapestry of memories woven with faith, hope, and love.
Heidi was the cherished daughter of Sheryl and Eric Burdette, who nurtured her in the ways of the Lord from her earliest days. As she grew, she became a loving sister to Ashlie, Shyanne, Destini, Justin, and David, and though her sister Cristal Hicks preceded her in death, their bond remains unbroken in spirit. She was a devoted mother to her son, Wyatt McCoy, who was the apple of her eye and her pride and joy.
In the embrace of her family, Heidi's heart held a special place for her grandmothers, Jolene King and Lillian Burdette, and her grandfathers, Charles King and James Thomas Burdette, all of whom had gone on before her to prepare the way in that celestial home.
Heidi lived her life as an avid believer in God and His divine plans. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through every storm. She found great joy in ministering to others, offering a helping hand and a prayer to those in need. Her presence at gospel revivals and concerts was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her Savior, and her voice, lifted in praise, was a sweet, sweet sound in the ear of the Lord.
Her journey through life was not without its trials and tribulations, but Heidi faced each challenge with a strength that came from her deep-rooted belief in the power of redemption and grace. She was a living example of the scripture, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). She overcame many obstacles, and in doing so, she inspired others to persevere and hold fast to their faith.
Heidi's love for her family was a fierce and tender flame that warmed the hearts of all who were blessed to be a part of her kin. Friends, too, were drawn to her radiant spirit, and she held each one close to her heart, cherishing the moments and memories they shared. Her laughter was infectious, her counsel wise, and her embrace a refuge in times of sorrow and joy alike.
As we bid farewell to Heidi Noelle Macks let us take comfort in the knowledge that she now rests in the arms of our Lord, free from the trials of this world. She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she has kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to her on that day-and not only to her, but also to all who have longed for His appearing (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Let us hold fast to the love she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the example she set. May her legacy continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched, and may we carry her spirit with us as we walk our own paths, guided by the light of her memory and the assurance that we shall see her again in that glorious place where there is no more pain, no more tears, and where love reigns eternal.
Heidi Noelle Macks, daughter, mother, sister, and friend, you are dearly missed, but we rejoice in the knowledge that you are now singing with the angels, your voice joining the heavenly chorus in praise of our Creator. Heidi was born a free spirit, destined to dance to her own music. A smart but restless child, keeping herself occupied would prove to be the biggest challenge. She approached every day with enthusiasm and optimism living life at breakneck speed. And despite all the difficulties Heidi faced, she always said "don't worry about me, I am a survivor." We all love that rambunctious child turned wildly chaotic woman. She will be missed in all of our hearts and minds. We love you Heidi!
