Helen Isabel Blevins, 61, of Hutchinson, died March 24, 2025, (as a result of an automobile accident). She was born November 27, 1963, in Garden City, to Pete and Joice (Schriner) Marquardt.
Helen graduated from Garden City High School in 1982. She worked as a CNA and Med Aide in Garden City area nursing homes for many years, at ALCO, in addition to being a school bus driver. Moving to Hutchinson in 2007, Helen worked at Dillon Living Center for a number of years and then had been a driver for RCAT the past 10 years. She loved listening to Christian music, raising chickens, anything related to sunflowers, and watching game shows and home improvement shows on TV. She was of the Lutheran faith.
On January 12, 1985, Helen married John L. Blevins, in Garden City. They recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: her children, Amanda Jones (Jeff) of Hutchinson, Janzen Sangals (Sierra) of Osawatomie, Alyssa Blevins and Stephanie Blevins of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; sister, Sarah Ludwig of Wichita; sister-in-law, Juanita Blevins of Topeka; brothers-in-law, Brian Blevins (Melissa McClaskey) of Olathe, Todd Blevins (Dixie) of Council Bluffs, IA, Mike Blevins (Denise) of Atlantic, IA; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Melanie Holsing; grandson, Isaiah; and sisters, Peggy, Lisa, and Rita.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. Cremation will follow. The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it below will be active beginning at 1:45 p.m. the day of the service. Click here to view Helen's service
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Helen Blevins Memorial Fund (payable to Elliott Mortuary), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
