Helen Jane Carlson

On April 11, 2025, our loving mother Helen Bienek Carlson of Floresville, Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and to be reunited with her husband Wayne in heaven.
Helen was born in Floresville, Texas on June 1st, 1944 to Martin and Katherine Bienek. She lived there until she graduated at age 16 from Poth High School. She then moved to the big city of San Antonio to begin working at USAA as a mail clerk. Her life would be changed forever when a blind date with an MP stationed at Ft Sam Houston in 1962 turned into a 58 year marriage. Helen and Wayne lived in San Antonio for 40 years and raised 2 daughters there. In 2004 after retirement, they decided to build a house on their property in Floresville and live the rest of their lives together on their farm close to the same area that Helen was raised.
Those who knew Helen will remember her beautiful spirit and her generous nature. She loved her family and could not get enough of her grandkids and then her great grandkids. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Wayne Carlson, her parents Martin and Katherine Bienek and her sister Mary McPherson.
Helen is survived by her daughters Naydene Wallace and husband Doug of Victoria, Texas and her daughter Cayrene Hartzog and husband Paul of Marion, Texas. She will be missed by her four granddaughters Madisen Hall (Dane), Chandler Robinson (Nate), Spring Wallace (Randy) and Brooke Willoughby (Bob) and her great grandkids Barrett, Everett, Raylan, Braxon, Evelyn, Baylea (Jay) and Caden. She is also survived by her sister Katherine Biela of Floresville, her brothers in law Arthur Carlson and Peter Carlson (Elaine) of Massachusetts and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who all held a special place in Aunt Helen's heart.
The family would like to thank the staff at Connally-Memorial Medical Center, The Heights of Gonzales and Elara Caring hospice for their care of our mother in her final days.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 18th at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jankowski, Robert Biela, James McPherson, Dane Hall, William McPherson, and Nate Robinson.
