Helen Rae Coltrain, 90, died Thursday, November 9, 2023.
She was born January 12, 1933, daughter of John and Helen Drescher Gerlach. Helen graduated from Eastern High School and was a member of the old South Watterson Trail and Forrest Park Community Churches.
Her family fondly remembers playing games around the kitchen table and Helen's favorite pastimes of solving puzzles and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Coltrain; and brother, David Gerlach.
Survivors are her children, Joan Nusekabel (Lee), Scott Coltrain (Lisa) and Patricia Lee McCullough; grandchildren, Michael Lawson (Marian), Matthew Jackson (Kayla), Camille Coltrain, Zachary Coltrain, Jamie McCullough and Amy Chandler (Travis); great grandchildren, Leslie and Phoenix McCullough; sisters, Lois Gerlach and Nancy Aloi; and sister-in-law, Diana Gerlach.
Her funeral is 11am Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with private burial. Visitation is 4-7pm Tuesday, November 14, 2023 and after 10am Wednesday until the time of the funeral.
