Helen Ruth (Hankins) Dennett of Independence, MO.

Helen was born February 17, 1940, in Binger, Oklahoma to Olaf E. Hankins and Daisy Ruth (McEntire) Hankins.

Helen graduated from Augusta High School in 1957. Helen married her high school sweetheart Bobby Ray Dennett on July 19, 1957. Helen worked different jobs during her life and was also able to be a stay-at-home mom at some points. Helen retired from Truman Medical Center in 2002.

Helen spent her retirement enjoying and entertaining her children and grandchildren, along with taking on the responsibility of caretaker for her oldest son who had a stroke.

Helen passed away at home on October 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bobby Ray Dennett, her son Kevin Dean Dennett, her parents and four siblings, Velma Knollenberg, Dallas Hankins, Don Hankins and Doyle Hankins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Kurtis Shawn Dennett, daughter Kristen Renea (Dennett) McIntyre and husband Bryan, daughter-in-law Scarlet (Dike) Dennett. Grandchildren- Kyle Todd McIntyre, Kelsey Renea Hanson and husband Jake, Kristopher Blake McIntyre and wife Tatiana, Kevin Alexander Dennett, and step-granddaughter Ashley Nicole Greco and wife Heather. Great Grandchildren- Evelette A. McIntyre, Callum J. McIntyre, Luca E. Hanson, Nico M. Hanson and Adelynn L. Greco, along with many other relatives.

Per Helen's wishes she has chosen cremation with a burial at Royer's New Salem beside her late husband. Her wish was not to have any special services. In lieu of flowers you may make a memorial contribution in her name to the Alzheimer's Association – Heart of America Chapter.
