Helen Diane Klare Dahlin, 81, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
She was born on Beaver Island in Clinton, Iowa on January 4, 1942 to the late Lewis Klare and Helen Christine Ohrt Klare. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Brewer; four siblings, Betty Hutton, Mary Ann Sexton, Nancy Thomas, and Louis Klare; two grandsons, Dustin Brewer and Jeremiah Brewer; and a great grandson, Noah Brewer.
Helen was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed participating in bowling, minigolf, and walking. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. She shared Christ with her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Ernie Dahlin; five sons, Clint Brewer (Sandra), Paul Brewer, Shane Brewer (Sue), Chris Brewer (Peggy), and John Brewer (Amy); eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three siblings, John Klare, Jeannie Lind, and Lois Schmidt; and two stepchildren, Kendra Levine (Nathan) and Jason Dahlin.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with her son, Clint Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Springs Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
