Helen Olivas Flores, passed away March 18, 2025 at the age of 90.
Helen was born March 4, 1935. She grew up in Santa Paula, California. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert Flores. Together, they raised three children – Susan, Robert, Jr., and Allen. She was a devoted and loving wife for 65 years. Helen and Robert were devout Catholics and life-long members of the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore. Helen loved her family and with Robert instilled in them their faith, values, and love of the outdoors.
Helen worked at the Olga Company in Fillmore in the 1970’s where she worked as an inspector but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker raising their 3 children. She dedicated her life to raising her children, creating a loving home.
Helen enjoyed time with her family, camping trips, and shopping adventures with her friends. They especially enjoyed trips to Yosemite with her siblings and their families when their children were growing up. In their retirement they took care of their grandchildren and enjoyed going on cruises and trips to Laughlin.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert as well as her father Jose, mother Rosario, and her nine siblings; Manuel, Lucy, Jess, Esperanza, Hortensia, Mary, Eva and Tony. She is survived by her daughter Susan Salas, and her sons Robert Flores Jr. and Allen (Valorie). She is also, survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Salas (Maria), Mark Flores (Mariana), Tim Flores, and great-grandchildren, Angel, Delsi and great-grandson Flores (due in July). Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
