Helen Virginia Glisson, 76 of Grand Ridge, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Helen was born September 13, 1948, in Altha, Florida to the late Leonard and Fausteen Varnum and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, bird watching, hunting and fishing and most of all spending time with her grandson and family.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Junior Varnum and her sister, Imogene Malloy.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James Glisson; her son, Clint Glisson; her brothers, Jimmy Varnum and his wife Patricia, David Varnum, Bobby Varnum and his wife Gail, Terry Varnum, Kenneth Varnum and his wife Lisa; her sisters, Patsy Adams and her husband Poney, Linda Whitfield and her husband Charles, Debbie O’Bryan and her husband Mike and Janice Alexander; a grandson, Maverick Glisson; her brother and sister in laws, Joe Glisson, Marie Marshall and her husband Terry and Terisa Pettis and her husband Danny and a host of nieces, nephews and many special friends.
A memorial service honoring Helen’s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Benefield and Bill Mayo officiating.
