Helen D. Maxwell (Bryant), age 93, of Millsboro, DE, Helen passed away on September 4, 2025. She retired from Fusco Enterprises in New Castle and Melvin L. Joseph Construction Co in Georgetown. She was a lifetime member and Past President of Joseph B. Stahl Unit # 20 and Past President, and Charter member of Amvets Ladies Auxiliary #22.
She enjoyed going to lunch with her friends from the YMCA, swimming and working out at the "Y". She also liked to spend time at Harrington Raceway and Casino. She belonged to the Cheer Center in Longneck and really enjoyed the time she spent there, and met a lot of new friends.
She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald W. Maxwell, Sr. who passed away in September 2007; her son John who passed away in May 1975; her sisters Elizabeth Kenny (John Kenny) and Delores Haas (Walford Haas); and her parents Harry and Dorothy Bryant.
She is survived by her daughter Arlene Keebler, of Newark; her sons Donald Maxwell, Jr., of Millsboro; and Joseph Maxwell, also of Millsboro. She had 3 grandchildren, Michelle Bonk (Steven); Brian Keebler (Angela); and Nicole Olszewski (Josh). She also had 15 great grandchildren –Justin Keebler, Jackson Kreer, Owen Kreer, Gavin Kreer, Caroline Kreer, Noah Bonk, Griffin Bonk, Brian Keebler, Jr., Layla Keebler, Brandon Keebler, T J Simpers, Jordan Banning, Julee Olszewski, Mason Olszewski, Jamison Olszewski. She also had one great-great grandson, Logan Keebler. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Carlisle of Smyrna, DE.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966. Another visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
