WORCESTER___Helen B. (Silinskis) Bryant Melchione, 89, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday September 30, 2022 with her children by her side in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 48 years, Richard J. Melchione died on August 9, 2022. Her first husband, Warren Bryant died many years ago. Her daughter, Donna Bryant - Smith died in 2021. Helen was also predeceased by her brother, James Silinskis of Florida.
Helen leaves her children, Ronald Bryant and his wife, Eileen of Aiken, SC., Patricia Creedon of Hudson, NH., Susan Bryant of Worcester and Cynthia Baril and her husband, Todd of Barnstable Village; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Michael Smith of South Yarmouth; five step children, and many step grandchildren.
Helen was born in Bridgewater, Ma., a daughter of the late James and Anna (Grigas) Silinskis and lived in Worcester nearly all of her life. She attended St. Casimir grammar school and St. Stephens High School. Helen attended 2 years of post-secondary school which was very rare for women at that time. She had a strong business accumen. As a young woman, Helen was very proud of her success as a salesperson for Sarah Coventry Jewelry for 25 years. She then owned and operated her own jewelry business, The Midas Touch. In addition, Helen worked for the U.S. Post Office for ten years along with many other pursuits. Most recently, Helen owned and operated a Medical Billing Service company. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Helen loved spending time with her family, especially over the holidays. She enjoyed reading, reality TV and traveling to Las Vegas and Cape Cod. She had a heart of gold, contributed to many charities and was loved by everyone she met.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from DIRSA - MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday October 5, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester, Ma., 01604.
