Helen Marie Sanchez, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Born to Silverita Manchego and Cleofes de Jesus Atencio, Helen was united in marriage to the love of her life Fredrico "Fred" Sanchez. Helen was a beacon of love and devotion in the lives of all who knew her. A devout Catholic, Helen found strength and solace in her faith, which guided her through life's challenges and inspired her unwavering commitment to her family. She was known for her joyful spirit and her passion for life, which was evident in her love for bingo and bowling, activities that brought her much happiness and cherished memories. Helen is survived by her loving son, Fred Sanchez, and her cherished daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sanchez. She was a proud grandmother to Rosane Sanchez, Amber (Matthew) Rosenthal, and Stephen Sanchez, who brought her immense joy. Her legacy also lives on through her six great-grandchildren, who adored her. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fredrico "Fred" Sanchez, and her siblings: Rose Cordova, Martha Herrera, Cecilia (Sissy) Lucero, Armando Atencio, Archie Atencio, and Ben Atencio. Their memories will forever be a part of her story. Helen's warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by her family and friends, reflecting Helen's commitment to her faith and community. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of God. Services for Helen will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 2715 E Pikes Peak Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 with a viewing starting at 4:00 PM with a Rosary to follow at 5:00 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church at 511 S Church PL, San Luis, CO 81152 at 10:00 AM, with Interment to follow at the Los Fuertes Cemetery, To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
