Helen Schroyer Obituary
Helen "Nook" Maude (Graham) Schroyer, 96, of Mt Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Peace Healthcare at Dennett Road Manor in Oakland. Born on December 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. Graham and Beulah M. (Uphold) Graham.
After graduating high school, Helen worked for the FBI, and later pursued a career as a telephone operator at AT&T. She was a member of the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church. She was known for her beautiful quilts and also enjoyed knitting, painting, and crochet.
She is survived by her two children, Yvonne Wilt, of Oakland, and Paul Schroyer and wife Robin of Oakland; five grandchildren, Paul and Scot Schroyer, Rena Rohrbaugh, Amber Macauley, and Brandon Wilt; ten great-grandchildren, Paul Jr., Nickolas, Ethan, Holden, Waylon, Arlen, Haley Jo, Ayden, Connor, and Emma; and one great-great-grandchild, Maggie Kate.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Schroyer; two siblings, Paul Laverne Graham and Martha Maxine Graham; and a son-in-law, Earl Wilt, Jr.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 PM with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Schroyer family at this time.
