Helen Shanes Obituary

Helen was the beloved wife of Billie Roy Shanes, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald "Ronnie" Gossett, her sister, Vicki Dile, and her brother, Jerry McClearen.
Helen is survived by her children: Alisa Gossett, Tina Gossett, and Barry (Rhonda) Gossett. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Petty, and was a devoted grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Known for her incredible cooking, Helen took joy in making meals for her family. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and exploring the back roads, and was an avid card player with a particular fondness for poker and Rook. Helen's love for dance and her warmth made her beloved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
