Helen Marie Soltis, age 87, long time resident of New Hope, MN got her Heavenly wings on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her assisted living facility in Maple Grove, MN.
Helen was born on January 8, 1938, in Rochester, MN to Alvin and Nina (Gullickson) Olson. She graduated from Upsala High School in 1956. She met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Soltis her senior year of high school and they were united in marriage February 23, 1957. They spent 58 ½ wonderful years together until his passing in August of 2015.
Helen worked various jobs while raising her four children, eventually becoming a dental administrator, a job she absolutely loved. She knew each patient by their first name and greeted everyone with her infectious smile. In retirement, she and Dick enjoyed traveling, spending time at their lake place and their winters in Texas. Helen had a passion for cooking and entertaining and loved hosting card parties or any special occasion, the coffee pot was always on!
Helen had a beautiful singing voice and a love for music. She sang for many weddings and special occasions and road trips in the family station wagon were spent in song.
Helen was a beautiful soul both inside and out. She always left the house with her hair styled, makeup applied, matching jewelry, impeccably dressed, and wearing her signature pink lipstick.
Helen's legacy is marked by her kindness, her commitment to her loved ones, and her ability to make a positive impact on those around her. Helen's positivity and engaging spirit will live on through all she touched. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
