Helen Louise Starkey, 83, of Waverly, Ohio passed 5:58 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025 at SOMC Hospice Center, Portsmouth.
Helen was born November 29, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Willie Stephens and Jettie Mae (White) Stephens. On October 21, 1961 she was united in marriage to Clarence Lee Starkey, who preceded her in death January 25, 2019.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Lee Starkey and wife Betty and Brian Wayne Starkey and wife Diana; three daughters, Deborah Lynette Belcher, Patricia Elizabeth Starkey, and Stephanie Joanne Gentry and husband Chad; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, a brother, Paul Willis Stephens; three sisters, Martha Eileen Bates, Alice Leigh Swank, and Lois Ann Presley; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Helen was a member of Anchor of Hope Church in Waverly. She had a strong relationship with the Lord, and she had an amazing singing voice that led others to worship. Nobody was more devoted to their family than Helen, family get togethers were the best times of her life. Her heart encompassed pure love.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Richmond Dale Church of God, Richmond Dale, Ohio. Burial will follow in Hay Hollow Cemetery.
Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
