Rebecca Sue "Becky" Starkey

Rebecca "Becky" Sue Starkey, age 68, was called home at 7:18 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System with the love of her family by her side.
Becky was born July 17, 1957, in Lima, OH, to the late Dale and Aurilla (Twining) Newland. On May 6, 2011, she married Franklin "Tom" Starkey who preceded her in death on August 2, 2015.
Becky was a 1972 graduate of Bath High School. She started her career as a nurse's aide at the Lima Manor Nursing Home and finished her career at Richland Manor. Becky was an exceptionally caring and compassionate person who enjoyed taking care of others. She had a passion for playing BINGO every Wednesday and Saturday night. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
She is survived by her children, Thomas "TJ" John (Carrie Lamb) Dotson, Jr. of Lima, Christopher "Chris" Dale (Debbi) Dotson of Lima, Timothy James (Amber Poling) Dotson of Troy, Tammy Jo Williams of Lima; nephews, Tommy (Melissa) Miller and their children, Cole and Jade of Lima, nephew, Michael Alan (Jessica ) Newland of Richwood; niece, Sherry (Dave) Wilmoth of Dola; grandchildren, Makenzie, Hunter, Ryder, Jason, Jamea, Jamela, Raelynn, Chloe, Zach, Bentley, Gracie, Wyatt, Isaiah, Isaac, Autumn, Hannah (Jake Landon) Acosta, and Haley (Josh Eterno) Pursell; great-grandchildren, Beckham, Adley, and Kase; and many stepchildren, other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel (Art Dicus) Pursell; brother, Dale Edward Newland, Jr.; sister, Joyce (Tom) Kathleen Miller; sister-in-law, Pat Newland; and first husband, Thomas John Dotson Sr.
Services celebrating Becky's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
