Steinour, 95, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in Mercy House of Chambersburg surrounded by her loving family. Born October 5, 1930 in Lemasters, PA she was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Blanche E. (Martin) Auman.
She was a graduate of Lemaster High School with the Class of 1948. Helen then went on to Chambersburg Business College. She was employed as a clerk typist for Letterkenny Army Depot for 10 years.
Helen was a lifelong member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed live theatre, camping, dancing with her husband, feeding the birds and taking care of her yard. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Gregory L. Steinour (Kim) of Chambersburg, Deborah S. Weaver (Herb) of Shippensburg, PA, Kim S. Rogers (Troy) of Mechanicsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Janelle N. Green (Ethan) of Littlestown, PA, Tyler M. Weaver (Katie) of Carlisle, PA, Chelsea N. Digon (Eli) of Albuquerque, NM and Kali A. Linn (John) of Chambersburg; a step-granddaughter, Kristin N. Rogers; great-grandson, Brooks R. Green; step-great-granddaughter, Bella D. Rogers; a great-granddaughter on the way; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene B. Steinour who passed away July 1, 2022; a sister, Frances M. Sipes and her husband Ralph; a niece, Sandra Sipes; and a great-granddaughter, Kinsley May Linn.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Mark Baliles officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, PA.
There will be no public viewing however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. 4th Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to Mercy House of Chambersburg, 730 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
