Helen Delores Strong, born August 2, 1933, to Jerry and Sylvester (Savage) Brown, passed away on March 9, 2025.
Helen was a member of White Oak Church of God in Christ in Mount Pleasant. She attended Booker T. Washington schools in Mt. Pleasant. She loved gardening, especially attending to her roses and cooking. She would welcome people into her home and loved taking care of her grandchildren and the other neighboring children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Sylvester Brown; her beloved husband Leo Strong; her daughter Marilyn Brown; grandchildren Darius Brown, Amber Brown, Shemelia Brown; as well as her siblings Jessie Brown, Jearline Ellis, Odessa Harris, Betty Brown, Pauline Craddock, and Donnie Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her two sons Leo Strong Jr. and Timothy Brown both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, her daughters Delores Brown (Loran) of Clarksville, Texas, Teresa (Joe) Johnson of Rio Rancho, NM, Charlotte Brown (Michael) and Felicia Brown all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; she is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; her siblings Alma Clemons, Laverta Brown, and Bertha Brown all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Helen's special friends Linda Lewis and Mary Lewis both of Mt. Pleasant; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her family and friends, who she loved dearly, will forever treasure the warmth, love, and care she shared throughout her life. Helen's memory and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
