Helen Evangeline (Blanchard) Stuart, age 83, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away on January 26, 2026.
A daughter of the late Norman and Elsie (Taylor) Blanchard, she was born January 9, 1943, in Webster Ma. Her husband Stirling Stuart predeceased her in 1967. She leaves her North Carolina family, a brother Ronald Blanchard, a special niece, Rose; two nephews, Ronald and Nathan; other nieces and nephews from Massachusetts; many grandnieces and grandnephews; plus, one great great nephew, she was also predeceased by her brother, Norman Blanchard Jr.; and her sister, Carolyn Maryea.
She moved with her family to West Springfield, Ma in 1948. While there she was active in many youth organizations. She was a Past Worthy Advisor of West Springfield Assembly #79 Order of Rainbow for Girls, and a 1961 graduate of West Springfield Highschool.
In the early sixties she moved to Miami, Fl, where she was co-owner of Fast Gro and later Fernwood Nursery, where in addition to nursery plants, they sold parrots and other exotic birds.
After graduating from Miami-Dade Community College, she worked for Personal One, and later worked several years at Bisazza as a supervisor, until she retired.
Helen returned back to West Springfield after retirement to help care for her mother. Helen’s love of nature and photography brought her back to the Florida everglades several times a year. She would also visit Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Parrot Jungle, and the Miami Zoo. Going Tent camping in several states and national parks was another one of her enjoyments. Around the home, she enjoyed gardening and raising house plants. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Stuart family.
