Helen Elaine Theriot, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on August 26, 1956, in Port Arthur, Texas, she experienced a life filled with love, joy, and the simple pleasures of family. Helen was a devoted member of the Baptist Faith, grounding her life in community and spiritual connection.
Helen was particularly known for her big heart and her enthusiasm for spoiling her beloved nieces and nephews. The love she had for them was evident in every gesture, large or small, and they brought her immense joy throughout her life. Helen's family includes her sister, Linda Theriot of Port Arthur; brothers, James Muntz of Crockett and John Muntz of Beaumont; aunt, Thelma Kiger of Groves; uncle, Daniel Theriot of Port Arthur; and her wonderful nieces, Christy Perez and her husband, Josh, Kourtney Wyatt, and Ashton Muntz. She also leaves behind her nephews, Michael Chang, Corbin Muntz and his wife, Jessica, Justin Muntz, Gage Muntz, and Elliot Muntz.
She is predeceased by her parents, Aldon Theriot, Jr. and Leola Muntz, and her sister, Alice Wyatt, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms in the eternal realm.
Visitation will be held on August 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service and interment at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
As family and friends gather to celebrate her life, we remember Helen not just for her passing but for the warmth and laughter she shared. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
