Helen M. (Williamson) Weinert, age 78, of Caseyville, IL, passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO. Helen was born in East St. Louis, IL, on April 13, 1946, to the late Elmer "Jack" L. Williamson, Sr. and the late Maybell G. (Friese) Williamson. Helen is survived by her three loving daughters, Jackie (Kim Lee) Spiker of Godfrey, IL, Tracy (Tricia) Spiker of Las Vegas, NV, and Janet (Kurt) Connelly of Edwardsville, IL; three cherished grandsons, Sean Connelly, Kevin Connelly, and Ryan Connelly of Edwardsville. IL; a loved step granddaughter Kendra (Rob) Schaefer of Belleville, IL; a sister, Charlette (Williamson) Hobbs, of Caseyville, IL; and a brother, Elmer L. Williamson, Jr.
Helen had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in the rhythmic motions of crocheting, creating intricate pieces that were cherished by friends and family. She enjoyed relaxing by the waters fishing while visiting neighbors and friends at Carlyle Lake. Her love for bingo added many traveled miles to small towns in Illinois for the quest of quilts and many nights at local area bingo halls, filled with laughter, friendly competition, and a sense of community. Helen worked in retail management most of her life from Grandpa Pidgeon stores to Clark Convenience stores and later retired from Lowe's Pro Services Department in Fairview Heights IL which was also the place she found the drive for NASCAR and Jimmie Johnson Lowe's #48. Ever the dedicated supporter, she cheered for her daughters, and continued this heartfelt tradition with her grandsons, ensuring they always felt her unwavering encouragement and love in whatever they did. Helen, with her passion for baking and crafting delightful sweets, fudge and homemade jellies made every gathering a bit sweeter. Her vibrant spirit and diverse interests enriched the lives of all who knew her.
A memorial visitation will be held on March 22, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL.
