Helen Winonna Teal Ingram, daughter of Bryant and Odell Teal, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September the 11th 2024 at age 92. There will be a celebration of Helen’s life at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church by Pastor Stacey R. Lundy, Pastor Yvonne Hechler, and Brent Taylor with eulogies being delivered by family members. Following the service, a private committal will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, where she will be interred beside her husband, Carroll.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Helen Ingram Kozikowski, son Carroll James “CJ” Ingram, Jr.; son-in-law, Ray Thomas Kozikowski, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Gray Ingram. Helen is also survived by four grandchildren, Raymond Kozikowski, III (Emily Evert), Teal Raffaele (Nick Raffaele), Kyle Ingram and Joel “JT” Ingram; and three great grandchildren, Cassius Kozikowski, Lennox Kozikowski, and Roman Raffaele.

Helen was born in Cramerton, North Carolina and raised in McFarlan, North Carolina with her two sisters, (Norma and Carolyn) and two brothers (Bryant and Ralph). She met and married Carroll Ingram in 1951; they started their life together living in Wadesboro then Hamlet, North Carolina. Carroll worked for Seaboard Airline Railroad and he commuted daily from Wadesboro to Hamlet. Helen and Carroll built a house in Hamlet and lived an idyllic life of church, children, school, and great neighbors. In 1967, Seaboard promoted Carroll. Helen, Carroll and their children, Gail and Carroll, Jr. left North Carolina for Florida; first living in Plantation, then settling in Jacksonville. Helen and Carroll were devoted Christians and members of Southside Baptist Church, beloved by all who served and worshipped with them. Though Helen worked outside the home, she was always there for her children as they grew up. She frequently stepped up to be Room Mother during their school years. She was there in the morning to get them off to school and there in the afternoon to hear about the day before serving a wonderful family dinner. Helen and her family stayed connected with their relatives in North and South Carolina. Summer trips to Myrtle Beach with extended family were consistent gatherings over the years. In 2007, Carroll passed away; Helen and her family have missed him greatly. Helen’s family have surrounded her with love since Carroll’s passing. Now, Helen will join her beloved Carroll in Heaven. Helen will be missed, and her life celebrated, by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
