Helena's story began in the small town of Wilburton, OK, where she was born into a loving family. Her life was a journey of dedication and service, beginning with her role as a secretary at Air Asia in Van Nuys, CA. Her commitment to making a difference led her to serve as the Secretary for the Chief of Police in McAlester, OK, for 20 years. Upon retiring, she continued her journey in Austin, where she joined the Department of Treasury. Helena was a woman of action, dedicated to her career and serving her community.
Her life was not only marked by her professional accomplishments but also her deep-seated faith and creative passions. Helena was a faithful member of the New Covenant Fellowship in Oklahoma. Her love for quilting and crafting was unmatched, which led her to initiate the Southeastern Oklahoma Arts and Crafts show. Helena's creativity was a source of joy and inspiration for many. Her quilts were not just pieces of fabric sewn together, but stories stitched with love and warmth.
Helena was a woman of great faith, intelligence, and friendliness. These attributes were reflected in every aspect of her life, from her professional career to her personal relationships. She was a woman who embraced every moment, inspired others with her optimism, and radiated positivity. Helena was not only a beloved family member and friend but also a role model for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helena's life was richly woven with love and laughter, shared with her cherished family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her daughter, Allison (John) Patterson, grandchildren Laura, Michael, Cristine (Trey), Cristopher (Dylan), and Seth, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Bonnie, Toni (Bob), and Gail. Helena's nieces Robin, Pam, and Angela, along with many loving in-laws, great nieces and great nephews, and long-time friends, will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
As Helena embarks on her heavenly journey, she reunites with her son, Jason, her parents, Sam and Minnie, and her sisters, Mary, Janice, Kathleen, and Charlotte. Her reunion with them is a testament to her enduring faith and the eternal bond of love that transcends the boundaries of life and death.
