Helene (Galarneau) Sirois, 93, of Richmond, NH and formerly of The Villages FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
She was born a daughter to Malvina (Lavoie) and Lucien Noel Galarneau on October 18, 1930 in Lawrence, MA. Helene attended Saint Joseph's School in Lawrence, graduating in 1948.
Helene was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker.
Helene was a devout Catholic, who watched Mass on her television every day. Family members would notice her praying with her rosary beads and reading one of her many Bibles. Helene loved to write and receive letters from family and friends near and wide. She was an avid bird watcher. If she didn't recognize a particular bird, she would be seen researching what she saw in the many bird books she possessed. She adored visiting friends, playing cards and bingo, crafting, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She also loved all that Florida provided, from the warm weather, to the many friends she made.
Helene is survived by her son Normand and his wife, Cynthia of Richmond NH, her daughter Helen Robbins of Florida, her daughter Theresa Marone of Florida, and her son Daniel and his wife, Mary of Newport NH. She is also survived by her siblings, her brother, Claude Galarneau and his wife, Barbara of South Carolina, her sister Annette Valliere of Methuen Massachusetts, along with 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Helene was predeceased by her daughters Catherine Wall and Anne Marie Sirois, her son, Roger Sirois, her sisters, Jeanne Gowen, Cecile Fecteau, Rita Drass, and her brother Paul Galarneau.
The family of Helene Sirois would be honored to have all friends and family join a service to celebrate her beautiful life which will be held on Monday, July 29th at 10am. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home and Crematories, 46 S Winchester Street, Swanzey, NH. 03446. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.
