Henry Davis Obituary

Henry was born in Brooklyn, NY to Doris and Michael Davis. He shared a wonderful childhood growing up in Brooklyn, rooting for the Dodgers and spending the summers on Rockaway Point, where a lifelong love of boating, swimming, and the beach took hold.
Henry married the love of his life, Rollie Goldman in 1959. Together, they raised three children. As Henry's career as an executive in the floor covering industry thrived, the family was relocated several times. These moves inspired Rollie to pursue a real estate career, and with Henry's support a business was born.
Henry was a joyful and caring soul to all who knew him. Blessed with a witty sense of humor, Henry was the life of the party, always ready for a dance or a song. His curiosity of people and love for adventure led to a life of travel and the arts. He was passionate about sailing, and was an avid reader, and enjoyed learning about different cultures and history. He recited poetry, sang a tune upon request, and was addicted to The New York Times! Although he never fully recovered when the Dodgers snuck out of Brooklyn, he never gave up on the sport and was sure to watch the season openers, World Series, and everything in between. He loved animals. Dogs, birds and manatees were amongst his favorites, and was generous to the foundations that protected them.
Henry is predeceased by his parents, Doris and Michael Davis, and his sister Beatrice Davis. Henry leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Rollie, his sons Michael (Nicholas Holevas) and Stuart, and his daughter Amy (Robert Herber), along with his grandchildren Eric and Emma.
A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 10:15 am at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Interment will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below. Shiva will be on Wednesday and Thursday starting at 1:00 pm at their home.
Memorial contributions in honor of Henry may be made to Doctors Without Borders or the Humane Society.
