In Loving Memory of Henry Joseph Ducre Sr.
Henry Joseph Ducre Sr., a beloved resident of Marietta, Georgia, since 1988 and a proud native of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on November 14, 2023. He was born in Slidell, Louisiana, on August 26, 1965, to the late Joseph Ducre and Emma Batiste Ducre of Lacombe.
A devoted Catholic and a cherished member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna, Georgia, Henry lived a life deeply rooted in faith and family. On October 24, 1987, he married Michele Boseman. From their union, two children were born: Henry Joseph Ducre II (Jasmine) of Marietta, Georgia, and Dr. Micah Ducre Toomer (Wesley) of Hiram, Georgia.
Henry, previously married to Julia Walker, lovingly embraced the role of stepfather to Kennedy Morris and PJ Morris, affectionately known to Kennedy as "Big Red" and she as Henry's "Lil Red." In addition to his children from his marriages, Henry was a proud father to Anniah Ducre, Peyton Wiseman, and Bailee Ducre. His pride extended to his role as a grandfather to Hamilton Caldwell and Hughston Toomer.
A loving brother to Marie Antoinette Wright, Aaron Ducre Sr., Gabriel Ducre (Alice), and Clarissa Minix (Michael), Henry leaves behind a legacy of warmth and family ties. He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and close friends.
Henry graduated from Mandeville High School, Class of 1983, where he formed enduring friendships that brought him joy. His educational journey continued with studies in project management at Chattahoochee Technical College and Georgia Highlands College. Additionally, Henry delved into electrical and building construction.
In his professional life, Henry excelled in entrepreneurship but assumed several different roles, ranging from Maintenance Supervisor for The Shane Company, Physician & Surgeon Hospital, and Rooms to Go Regional Manager. However, his entrepreneurial spirit shone brightest through multiple business ventures, including "Drock on the Box," a local DJ service, and the establishment of Ducre Enterprises, Vinings Transportation, All American Car Wash, Ducre Communications, Flush Rite, and The Grass Gods. His father's pride knew no bounds when he saw a billboard on the side of the interstate proudly displaying "DUCRE ENTERPRISES."
Known as "The Think Tank" and an "Idea Cultivator," Henry fearlessly faced challenges. He approached life with a love for people and a passion for sharing his countless ideas. He never met a stranger, making everyone feel like a member of his extended family.
If you're looking for Henry Ducre Sr., you might find him at Atkins & Park, his favorite restaurant, Home Depot, or at his palace he called home with a Coors Lite, listening to the soulful tunes of Frankie Beverly & Maze. His laughter, ideas, and love for life will forever echo in our hearts.
A culinary enthusiast, Henry was a super host, ensuring no one left his house hungry. He was the ultimate Frankie Beverly and Maze fan, passionately following them around the country and proudly declaring himself an honorary member of Maze.
Above all, we honor Henry for his unwavering sense of family, love for life, and enduring impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. In the fabric of our memories, he remains a beacon of love, strength and unity,
The funeral service for Mr. Ducre will take place at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4300 King Springs Rd SE, Smyrna, GA 30082.

I met my brother in 1994 at my house. He was friends of a family member, and we became good friends from that point. I was heartbroken to get that text. He was a big fan of my artistry and of music period...He loved some Maze. He was to put together a non-profit corporation to push music in the schools. My brother Henry, you ARE missed and will be for a long time.

As a WEVR RUNN Subdivision neighborhood, my sincere condolences to Henry´s family. For decades we shared community love. A warm wave entering/leaving the subdivision was felt. I called him our "Mayor". When you ran into at the store..always friendly. He will be greatly missed! Our thanks for community love.
Rest well faithful servant.

I never thought in a million years that after seeing Henry two weeks ago that it would be my last time seeing him. I am so glad that God gave me the opportunity to share the beautiful nuptials of our Prince. I will cherish the memories of my last time with Henry and keep them close to my heart. Joe and Micah and the entire Ducre family have my deepest condolences. Rest Well Ducre and See You On The Other Side. Super Nanny Sonya, Melvin and Avery
