Henry Edward "Wadoo" Evans passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, in his hometown of Meridian.  Pointing in the direction of heaven in his last days, Henry bids us farewell and now resides in his heavenly home. A Visitation for friends and family will be held at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes Downtown, located at 2514 7th St, Meridian, MS 39301, on September 15, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Memorial Service lead by Bro. Jack Kern to celebrate Henry's life will follow at the same location from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. It is an opportunity for all who knew him to come together and remember him. 

Born on September 18, 1948, in Meridian. Wadoo was an All-American guy. His life marked by a genuine love for all sports. He played baseball throughout his youth, and as he grew older, an unwavering enthusiasm for the outdoors, finding solace and joy in activities such as fishing and hunting.

He pursued a career as a pressman in the publication industry through which he brought words and images to life on countless pages throughout his career.

In addition to his professional achievements, Wadoo served his country as a proud member of the National Guard. His patriotism and service to our country will always be remembered.

Wadoo’s passing leaves behind an imprint on those who loved him dearly. He is survived by his brother George Alexander “Sonny” Evans Jr., sisters Janet Evans Moore and Mary Lee Evans Webb, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Alexander Evans Sr. and mother, Helen Louise Covington Evans. His son, Terry Evans, and sister Margaret "Pumpkin" Webb. Although Henry may no longer walk among us physically, his spirit lives on through cherished memories.

With an everlasting impact on family and friends, may his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of the heavens above. Rest in peace, dear Wadoo.
