Henry Falb Obituary
August 26, 1929 - January 20, 2026
Bloomington – Henry O. Falb, 96, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:51 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Normal with Rev. Dr. Timothy Fitzner officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be held at Blooming Grove Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to Christ Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Henry was born August 26, 1929, in West Bend, Iowa, a son to Henry A. and Marie (Kitzmann) Falb. He married Wilma A. Harms on September 2, 1956, in East Peoria, Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Falb of Bloomington; son, Roland M. (Cynthia) Falb of Winlock, Washington; daughter, Kathlene (Gregory) Plunk of Mansfield; and grandsons, Joshua Plunk, Mark Plunk, and Michael Plunk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ronald Falb; his sister, Marcella Rutledge; and his daughter-in-law, Jean Turco Falb.
Henry served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Navy-Blue Jacket Chorus, where he performed as a soloist. He obtained the rank of Petty Officer First Class.
He was a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, where he earned his Bachelor's degree and later attended Illinois State University in Normal, earning his MBA. Henry then became a Professor of Accounting and started his teaching career at Illinois State University.
Henry was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Normal, where he served on several church committees. He also enjoyed performing in the American Passion Play.
Henry was married to the love of his life, Wilma, for 69 years. He was a caring and kind man who loved his family and friends and helped anyone he could.
