Henry Earl Hamlet was called home on May 4,2023 at the age of 73 after a brief hospitalization.
Born on September 5, 1949, to parents Oliver and Rita (Miller) Hamlet, he was one of five children. Henry married the love of his life, Theresa Ann (Cook) Hamlet in Livonia, Michigan on June 5, 1993.
Henry had eight children, six of them being with Theresa. Henry was a maker of all things but spent most of his life restoring hot rods. He was extremely artistic, often drawing pictures for his children, which they will always hold close to their hearts. Henry was an amazing teacher to his children, and anyone else who wanted to learn.
After retirement, Henry enjoyed camping with his wife and being an at home dog dad to Keke, Baxter, and Skye. He loved his fur babies, being outdoors, and visiting with family and friends. Henry had a unique charm of having the ability to make anyone laugh, at any time. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren never wavered. The consistency of showing up for anyone who needed him was a great quality of his. The stories that he shared have become traditions from his kids down to his grand kids, which will always be treasured as the great family tales, as told by "Poppa". Of the many amazing accomplishments, he conquered in life, being a father, husband and grandpa were his greatest treasures. He will be missed immensely by his family, friends, and fur babies.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and son, Anthony Hamlet.
Henry is survived by his wife, Theresa and his seven children, Terri Hamlet, Jami Herschelman, Shannon Lange, Steven Maciag, Helen Hernandez, Paul Maciag, Christopher Hamlet, and Pete Zaker (whom he shared a father/son like relationship with). Henry also leaves behind his brother Jim (Pat) Hamlet, sister Brenda Wahlberg and over two dozen amazing grandchildren. Henry is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will have a Celebration of Life to honor Henry at a date to be determined.
