Henry Lee Honzell (Hank) 69, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Henry was born June 10, 1953, in Levelland, Texas to Early Richard Honzell and Verna Mae (Cooper) Honzell. He met the love of his life, Catherine (Cathy) Guay, 35 years ago, and they celebrated 28 years of marriage together. Henry worked as a distribution warehouse manager for Radio Shack in Fort Worth and California for 21 years, followed by employment at Incredible Universe in Arlington Texas and Freeman’s Oldsmobile of Irving. After retirement, he wasn't one to sit around, but opened Double H Lawncare serving the Fort Worth and Weatherford areas. Henry had a passion for fishing, enjoyed fishing with family and was a long-time member of the Trophy Bass Club in Fort Worth Texas. His favorite sports team was the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching boxing and golf. In his high school years, he boxed in the Golden Gloves (and was featured in the Fort Worth newspaper) Henry loved his family and friends, and they will miss his vibrant presence in their daily lives.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Verna Honzell; brother, Delbert Honzell; sister, Margaret Honzell, niece, Christina Honzell and faithful dogs, Mandy and Sissy.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy T. (Guay) Honzell of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Wagner; son, Paul Carney (Casey); eight grandchildren, Spencer Platt, Kenzie Platt, Kayla Carney, Baily Alexander, Kenidee Carney, Bradley Carney, Berklea Carney, and Kooper Carney; one great-granddaughter, Lynnlea Sharp; best friend and brother, Carl Honzell; and faithful dogs, Scout and Lily.
A memorial service celebrating Henry's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086, officiated by Van Houser. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Gardens, in Weatherford, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice.
