Virginia Cathy Vinson, born September 14, 1956, passed away on September 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and sparkling memories. A loyal champion of her family and friends, Cathy lived her life with generosity, warmth, and a devotion that always put her loved ones first.
Cathy had a gift for bringing people together. Holidays were her time to shine - she was always in charge of the ham and her famous banana pudding. A true Christmas spirit all year long, Cathy also delighted in her playful “BOO” attitude at Halloween. Her home was always filled with good food, laughter, and the comforting presence of family and friends gathered around the table.
One of Cathy’s greatest joys was her nightly conversations with her brother, Larry. Together, they shared laughs, love, and a running commentary on Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Every year, they celebrated their mother Charlton’s life with a special gathering, an occasion filled with family, stories, and heartfelt remembrance.
Cathy’s hands were rarely still, she found beauty and peace in her embroidery and quilting, leaving behind treasures stitched with love. At home, she adored snuggling with her cats, Diva and Durango, who never left her side. She also cherished time with her “yaya” crew, traveling, laughing, and even playing keno together, making every moment an adventure.
She loved dressing with elegance and flair, adding sparkle to every room she entered - both in her fashion and in her spirit. Cathy’s eloquence, quick wit, and wicked sense of humor made her unforgettable. She was sarcastic, stubborn, and endlessly entertaining, with a laugh that could light up the darkest day.
Cathy carried Jesus in her heart and lived her faith with grace. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generosity, and her joyful presence. Even her strong opinions - like her famous disdain for pickles (“how dare they even exist!”) will be fondly remembered by those who knew her best.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now among the angels in heaven, probably already asking Don Henley why he had to break up the band. Though her birthday would have been just days away, those left behind will celebrate her life by holding onto the precious memories she created and the love she poured into everyone around her.
Cathy will be deeply missed, but her laughter, sparkle, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
We love you, Cathy. Until we meet again.
