Henry Jennette Obituary

Clyde Jennette passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025 in his farmhouse on Spring Valley Angus Farm, surrounded by the legacy he built and the family he loved. He joyfully reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Rachel Ella, to the tune of “Far Side Banks of Jordan” where, as the lyrics say, “I’ll be waiting drawing pictures in the sand.”

Clyde was born on November 9, 1935 in Nashville, TN. The proud patriarch of a large and loving family, he leaves behind three generations who will carry on his stories, laughter, and lessons for years to come.

Throughout his life, Clyde accomplished everything he set his mind to. He built multiple businesses with his father: Jennette & Jennette then followed by Gravel Inc. His final company, Jenco Construction, Inc., he built from the ground up alongside his wife and three sons. For more than 50 years, Jenco has stood as a testament to his hard work, grit, and determination and continues to persevere under the family’s care today.

In his younger years, Clyde could always be found working hard on the farm, behind the wheel of a piece of heavy machinery, or barking orders and giving corrections from inside his pickup. He loved tending to his black Angus cattle, watching the seasons change across his land, and listening to the gentle sound of the creek that ran through the heart of his farm. In more recent years, when the work slowed down, he still loved to piddle around the farm and spend hours out in his shed where he would be tinkering, visiting, or even teaching his grandchildren that the shed was a safe place to release their anger without repercussion, per Pa’s rules. He also spent many hours tending to his garden that he took so much pride in.

“Pa” was tough as nails and had a streak of stubbornness that could make you shake your head one minute and laugh the next. Beneath that toughness, though, was a soft heart. One that loved deeply and fully. His giggly, chuckly laugh was contagious. His jokes were often cheeky (and sometimes questionable), and his pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. To him, they hung the moon AND the stars.

If you ever pulled into the driveway, you could count on hearing the TV turned up loud, playing bluegrass music, the local news, or a Tennessee ballgame. All sounds that will forever remind his loved ones of him.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Jennette and Orbie Catherine Jennette, his siblings, Judy Marie Eades, Jesse James Jennette, his grandson, Henry Noah Perkins and his great- grandson, Jaxson Wyatt Jennette. He is survived by his children Anthony Brian Jennette, Malcolm Owen Jennette (Diane), Russell Lee Jennette (Debra), Melody Kay Westerman (Randall), and Leanne Jennette-Cathey (Wayne), his sister, Rose Ann Hows, his brother, Albert Lee Jennette Jr., his 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. On Wednesday, November 5, 2025 the Family will receive friends from 11:30am to 1:30pm with service starting at 1:30pm and burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man built from grit, laughter, and love.

As he would always say, “Further down the road.” We’ll see you there, Pa.
