Henry Steven Kaps

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Henry Steven Kaps, 85, an area resident since 1973 and previously of Brooklyn and the Bronx, passed away on March 11, 2024.
Born in the Bronx on March 8, 1939, Henry was the son of the late Henry and Marie (Markey) Kaps. He proudly served in the US Navy. Henry was employed as an electrician by Local 3 in New York City until his retirement in 2004.
On October 25, 1958 at St. Martin de Tours Church in the Bronx, he married Theresa B. Doria Kaps who predeceased him in 2015 after 56 years of marriage. He lovingly cared for his wife, especially during the last 8 years of her life, while she battled cancer.
Henry was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Robert S. Kaps and his wife Joann DeLuigi of Fishkill, Karen A. Kaps of Wanaque, NJ, and Kevin J. Kaps and his wife Nicole of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Christina Kaps, Damien Kaps, Evan Kaps, and Cameron Kaps; his great-grandchildren, Trinity, Adriana, Jayden, Gianna, and Stella; and his niece, Michelle Ruvolo. In addition to his wife and parents, Henry was also predeceased by his infant daughter, Denise Ann Kaps.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery will be private.
