Henry McGuffey was called to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 89. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Henry was educated in the Orleans Parish School System, and he was a retired employee with Charity Hospital. He had many talents including lawn care, baking, and roofing. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ where he sang in the choir and served on the deacon board. He loved to sing and service God, never wavering in his commitment to the Lord, as well as his spiritual, physical and financial work of the church. As the patriarch and anchor that held his family together, Henry’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live in their hearts and all who knew him. Beloved husband of the late Delores McGuffey. Devoted father of Belinda McGuffey, Henry McGuffey, Jr., Anthony McGuffey, Renee McGuffey, Reginald Henry, and the late Larry McGuffey, and Robert Drummer. Son of the late George McGuffey, and Rose Sherman. Brother of L’esther Smith, Annette L’herrisse, Willie Sherman, and the late Elizabeth James, Donna Sherman, Leon Jones, and Solomon Price. Also cherishing his memories are 5 generations of grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ of New Orleans are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Malcolm Bacchus, Israel Baptist New Orleans officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
