Johnny Oliver entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 79. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Johnny was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School Class of 1965, where he played football as a tight end and ran track and field. He was a retired employee with Brown and Root as a pipefitter for 33 years. Beloved husband of Clair F. Oliver. Loving father of Sarita Monique Oliver, Johnny Oliver, III, Travis Eugene Oliver, and Mandisa Clair Oliver- Hughes. Son of the late Johnny Oliver, Sr. and Annie Mae Bordelon. Brother of Alander Triggs, Regina Gougis, Isabella Brown, Marlene Chamberlin, James Brown, and the late Joseph Brown, and Bromley Oliver. Nephew of the late Sarah Blackwell, Rowena Brown, Rosie Brown Ellis, Leanna Lee, Warren Brown, and James “Do Right” Brown. Father in law of Antoinette Oliver, Erica Barnett Oliver, Errol Hughes, Sr. and Ronnie L. Lewis. Son in law of Wallace and Margaret Foucher. Brother in law of Rosebud Triggs, Robert Chamberlin, Lois Foucher Johnson, Joyce Foucher Franklin, and Shelia Brown. Loyal friend of the late Willis Baptiste . Johnny is survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church 6223 6th Ave. Marrero, LA on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph, III officiating. Visitation begins at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
