Marilyn Ann Bazzle Washington, age 84, passed away peacefully at West Jefferson Medical Center on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Xavier Prep High School and Southern University at New Orleans, earning a degree in Political Science and English in 1977. She later obtained her Louisiana State Teachers Certificate from Holy Cross College. Marilyn began her teaching career with the Archdiocese of New Orleans where she taught for over 18 years. She later gained employment with the Jefferson Parish Public School System teaching for 20 years prior to retiring. Beloved wife of the late Eldrick Washington, Sr. Devoted mother of Eldrick (Deadra) Washington, Jr. and Francine Washington Thompson. Loving grandmother of Eldreaon Ingenee Washington, Eldrick (Tyronnisha) Washington III, Imani Elissa Thompson, Deja’ Diana Sonye Washington, Destini Adoniyah Washington, and Danielle Elisia Washington. Great grandmother of Easton James Washington, Xolani Blyss Washington and King David Washington. Daughter of the late Frank Bazzle and Mildred Revelle Bazzle. Marilyn is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
