Our Dearly Beloved, Rona Marie Woods, peacefully entered into Eternal Rest on October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving Family. She was an adoring daughter to Lenwood and Joycelyn Lewis Colin, born on June 14, 1957. Rona affectionately cared for them with grace and devotion, a true testament to her deep sense of family.
Rona’s life was a beautiful reflection of God’s love. She was a devoted mother to her beloved son Adam Woods, Jr, mother-in-law to Jamie, and proud grandmother to her precious grandson Kayson, who brought her endless joy and happiness.
She attended Xavier University Preparatory High School, Class of 1975. She led her own entrepreneurial accounts receivable business for many years and she also worked in the banking industry. Her work reflected her strong work ethic, independence, and commitment to excellence. She officially retired in July 2025. Rona was deeply family/friend oriented, and her greatest joy came from caring for and connecting with the people she loved. She had a true passion for cooking, not just because she enjoyed good food herself, but because it was one of the most heartfelt ways she expressed love. Whether preparing a favorite dish for a loved one or sharing something homemade with a friend. Rona found joy in making others feel special through the meals she created. It brought her genuine happiness to know she could brighten someone’s day with something warm from her kitchen.
She was also a faithful servant and active member of Anointed Dove Ministries, where she worshipped and served for over 25 years. Her church family was truly her second home. She poured her heart into every service, prayer, and outreach, always sharing God’s word with warmth and sincerity. Those who knew her could see God’s radiance shining through her in everything she did. She believed in living life to the fullest and embraced every moment with joy and confidence. She often said, “Everything will be okay,” a phrase that reflected her calm spirit and unwavering faith. Rona didn’t believe in worrying. She stood strong, trusting in God and faced life with elegance and finesse. Rona was known for her radiant smile, her fashionable flair, and her joyful spirit. She loved color, celebration, and connection, a true social butterfly who never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel loved through her kind words, thoughtful gestures, or simple acts of compassion. Her life was a living testimony of faith, beauty, and love. She filled every room with laughter and light. She will be forever remembered for the way she reflected God’s heart to everyone around her.
Rona leaves behind a legacy of joy, faith, and kindness that will continue to shine brightly through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched.
Her life will be celebrated on October 11, 2025 at Anointed Dove Ministries, 18 Stafford Rd. Picayune, MS 39466 at 10am.
