Henry P. "Hank" Murphy Jr., age 73, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Born in Newark, NJ on November 21, 1952, he was a son of the late Henry Patrick and Maria (Gulli) Murphy, Sr. Hank proudly served in the United States Army. He made his career as a mechanic at United States Postal Service.

Hank found great joy in the outdoors. His passions ranged from hunting, to target shooting, to fishing. Hank's love of fishing led him to compete in the regional fishing circuit. He also enjoyed challenging his friends to a game of pool. Most of all, Hank loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Fyler. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Leslie (O'Donnell) Murphy; brothers, Michael Murphy (Sharon) of St. Georges, Stephen Murphy (Lynn) of Oxford, PA, and Kevin Murphy of St. Georges; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Debbie O'Donnell; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Katie, Linsey, Melissa, Megan, L.J. (Mary), Kevin, Brendan, Erin, Joseph, Carol, Charles, Robert, and Richard.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am.
