Henry W Palmer, 79, passed away on April 1, 2024, at the Brown's Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, Georgia. He was born on January 22, 1945, to the late Ivory Palmer and Juanita McKeever. Henry was a true native of the area. He dedicated his life to hard work as an agricultural worker for Durrence Farms for 35 years.
Henry had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending his free time fishing, gardening, and hunting. His favorite place in the world was the woods and the pond, where he found solace and peace. Among his favorite hobbies, Henry had a special affinity for wrestling.
However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. Henry cherished the moments he shared with his wife, Ida Mae Perry, whom he was married to for many years. To this union, three children were born: Tracy Palmer of Atlanta, Georgia, Lamar (Tracy) Palmer of Claxton, Georgia, and Jerry (Shannon) Palmer of Statesboro, Georgia, and a special stepson, Quinton Byrd of Pembroke, Georgia. Henry had 19 grandchildren with one preceding him in death, and 14 great-grandchildren, which he showered with love and affection.
Henry will be deeply missed by his family. He was preceded in death by four siblings. He leaves to cherish his memories six brothers: Roosevelt (Izetta) Palmer, Ivey (Ola Mae) Palmer, Arthur (Ruby) Palmer, Junior (Wilhelmina) Palmer, George McKeever, and Clark (Retta) McKeever; eight sisters: Corrine Furman, Alice Robinson, Lorraine (Thomas) Green, Omie Jean Palmer, Laura Miller, Jessie (Jimmy) Carr, Geraldine Smith, and Vanessa (Delmas) Williams. His legacy as a hardworking, loving family man will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind
