Obituary
Jesus said..., "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." -John 11:25-26
Henry Quinney Sr. was born on September 25,1937 in Boyce, Louisiana to the late Mason Quinney Sr. & Nancy Smith Quinney. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 27, 2025, at 12:49pm at the Summit Nursing Home in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Henry confessed to Christ at a very young age and was educated in the Rapides Parish School System (A. Wettermark). He played baseball for the Alexandria All-stars in the positions of 3rd base and short stop. He worked for Courtney Companies for 42 years where he held many positions leading up to Foreman. After retiring, he started his very own company, "Quinney Construction" until he retired again. Henry loved to fish, smoke cigars, and cook his good ole BBQ.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Mason Quinney Sr; two daughters Stephanie & Gretchen, and ten siblings: Alice, Lucille, Willie, Coby, Rig, Boston, Bertha, Mason Jr, Mose, and Johnny.
Henry leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife of 27 years Sherry Brown-Quinney, whom he affectionately called Shay; five sons: Charles Quinney of Los Angeles, California, Henry Quinney Jr, (Markia) of Katy, TX, Gregory Quinney (Barbara), Jeffery Quinney (Kris), and Jeri Quinney all of Alexandria, Louisiana; five daughters: Terri Sampson Gallien (McCullan) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Janice J. Washington of Washington, DC, Tina Jones and Veronica M. Quinney both of Alexandria, LA; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
To Alice and Ida (Pee Wee), Henry is looking down from Heaven and both of you will always be his favorites. To Mike Ross, have a cold one in memory of your dear friend. "Doc".
Please keep the family in prayer.
