Henry Dale Rick of Ferndale Washington passed away on Sunday October 12th, 2025 at the age of 93. Dale was born on September 27, 1932 to Bill and Lois Rick. He was the youngest sibling to his older sister Juanita and brothers Willie, Dutch and Swede. Dale was born while his family lived at the Hawley Farm on West Wiser Lake Road and shortly after, in 1935, they moved down the road to 456 West Wiser Lake Road in Ferndale, Washington. Dale graduated from Meridian High School and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Jaqueline Aker on November 14, 1953. Dale served in the United States Coast Guard for 3 years and was stationed in Port Townsend, Washington. Port Townsend always held a special place in his heart and he was very proud of his service in the Coast Guard. He continued his love of the sea by visiting and collecting light houses and models of ships. After serving in the Coast Guard Dale moved back home to Wiser Lake Road to help take care of his mother and his family's farm. Jackie and Dale had 5 children, Kris, Karen, Kevin, Kelly and Kurt. Dale was a wonderful father and worked many careers while raising his family. His favorite job was being a carpenter and he was very skilled at building almost anything. He passed this skill along to many of his children and grandchildren. Dale and Jackie have 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, a very large extended family of nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. His family and friends were blessed to have him in their lives. Throughout his life Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends camping and boating and rooting for the Seahawks and Mariners. Dale loved living in Ferndale and lived on the same farm he came home to help run until he was 93 years. He passed away peacefully in his family home surrounded by his loved ones. A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at a later date.
