Henry Solesbee

Henry Solesbee 82, of Topton passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center. Henry played basketball at Nantahala High School where he graduated in 1962. After high school he shadowed his father in construction for over five years before starting his own business, Nantahala Builders. Throughout his life Henry rode Harley Davidson's, built motors and restored two corvettes, he was also an avid fly fisherman. Henry and his wife loved to loafer and encouraged his friends to travel with them. He had spent over 47 Summers in Montana chasing wild trout and riding the Big Sky. Henry loved spending time with his son, Joshua and his grandson, Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dallas and Mary Frances Rowland Solesbee and a brother, Kenneth Solesbee.
Surviving are his wife, Mary "Libby" Solesbee; one son, Joshua Bradley Solesbee of Franklin, North Carolina; and one grandchild, Miller Henry Solesbee.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 12, 2025 at White Oak Flats Church with Reverends Marlon Blaylock, Dean Bateman and Dennis Burrell officiating. Interment will be in Aquone Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Hayesville VFW Post 6812, Hayesville American Legion Post 532, and Murphy American Legion Post 96. Pallbearers will be David Miller, Rodney Chastain, Ronnie Bateman, Donald Cross, Jeff Gregory and Chris Baldwin.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 PM Sunday, October 12, 2025 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in memory of Henry Solesbee to the Nantahala Fire and Rescue, 19036 Wayah Road, Topton, North Carolina 28781.
