Henry Louis Way, Jr., LTC. retired, 74, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away October 9, 2023. He was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on July 31, 1949 to Henry Louis “Cicero” Way and Jimmie Faye Davis Way Dunn.
Louis is preceded in death by his father, Cicero; his step-father, Jim Dunn; his brothers, Eric and Bill Jowers; his grandfather, Jerome B. Davis, and his “Mamma,” Emma Alleene Davis.
He is survived by his mother; children, Henry Louis “Trey” Way III (Kristina Peterson), Jennifer Baker, Caitlin Silverio (Jose), Natalie Way; grandchildren, Chelsey, Rick, Cailin, Sarah, Mariah, Daniel, Joseph; great-grandson, Carver; brother, Brad Way (Katherine); his aunt and uncle, Anita and Pat Snodgrass, and their sons, Randy and John, along with a host of family and friends.
He enjoyed music, both playing and singing in various choirs and bands, mostly during his high school years living in Alamogordo, NM. Later on, Louis lived many years in Abilene, TX, where he was a commercial airline pilot; he would say, “I never worked a day in my life,” when he was flying. He also had a passion for old cars and collecting coins.
Louis served faithfully in the Army for 30 years and was the recipient of various military honors. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with burial following at Old Austin Cemetery.
